Garden Living

project:  2021

expected completion: 2023

The Beroun shelter is a materialization of the saying "if Mohammed cannot go to the mountain, the mountain must come to Mohammed". A building with only about 20 square meters of interior space can be built on the site, which would not meet all the needs of the future users. At the same time, the clients were open to non-traditional uses of the space. Since the shelter will only serve as a hideout during the summer months, I invited landscape architect Alice Bouškova to participate in the process. In the design, we use the entire property as a non-traditional interior. For example, there is an outdoor bathroom whose "ceiling" is made of the crowns of the multi-branch-tree, a sunken seating area by the fireplace with "walls" of shrubs, or outdoor "corridors" that guide the scenery of this unconventional house. It's just a matter of changing your point of view.
