We Roof

project and completion:  2019

service: unconventional assignment

category: ritual (concept, architectural design and collective performance)

In today's world, we lack daily rituals and a sense of belonging to our surroundings. That's why for the Hellowood Summer Festival 2019 with the sub-theme "Carnival" we designed a "mask" that is also a mobile shelter. The costume only comes to life when it is worn by several people. The building integrates its inhabitants as a natural part of the supporting structure - the human bodies are living caryatids, animated building material. It is important for the whole group to stick together, to agree on how and where the shelter will move, who can go inside, or how long the building will stand. All these situations strengthen the bonds among the inhabitants of this experimental house.
